The Regeneration Funding Team (RFT) provides advice and support to organisations seeking grant funding for regeneration projects in the Bridgend County Borough.

There are various national, regional and local funding programmes that can aid the social, economic, cultural and physical regeneration of the County Borough.  Please see below for information on major funding schemes that may be of benefit to your project or complete our funding enquiry form and we will contact you with information on relevant schemes.

Please note that the RFT will only be able to provide information via the funding enquiry form for projects that will be delivering in Bridgend County Borough.


Business and economy

There are various schemes and programmes to support businesses and the economy. Below are some schemes offering support to set up new ventures, develop existing businesses, relocate a business and other projects that will make a positive impact on the local economy.

The Wales Recycled Content Grant Scheme

Managed by WRAP Cymru, this scheme offers capital support to SME manufacturing businesses that want to use recyclate as an input, or increase recyclate use in manufacturing processes or packaging.

Heritage Lottery Fund Heritage Grants Scheme 

The Heritage Lottery Fund’s Heritage Grants Scheme offers grants of £50,000 upwards for projects relating to the national, regional or local heritage of the UK.

Millennium Stadium Charitable Trust

The Millennium Stadium Charitable Trust awards grants to organisations at a local, regional and national level with the aim of improving the quality of life of people who live and work in Wales.  The objective of the trust is to promote education, history, language and culture, particularly for those who face disadvantage or discrimination.

The Baring Foundation Arts Project Programme

The Baring Foundation Arts Project Programme supports awards grants to a maximum of £30,000 in order to support pioneering and exemplary practice by UK arts organisations, producing and presenting arts made by older people.

Environment & Countryside

Various funding schemes, programmes and initiatives support projects that promote, protect and conserve the countryside and the environment creating a more sustainable countryside and rural environment for people to enjoy.

The Ashden Awards for Sustainable Energy

The Ashden Awards for Sustainable Energy aim to reward organisations that have excelled in providing sustainable energy at a local level.  Awards are given for the benefits that sustainable energy brings rather than for the technology used.

The Shell Springboard Awards

The Shell Springboard Awards is an annual competition that rewards businesses for coming up with innovative ideas to tackle climate change.  Cash prizes are available for UK-based companies to come up with commercially viable products, services or ideas that will lead to a reduction in greenhouse gases.

GlaxoSmithKline IMPACT Awards

Housing and community regeneration can be central to improving the lives of people in their communities.
